  • Livestock, Gender issues and Community Based Monitoring Systems

    CARE-India Tsunami response Program invited Anthra to provide technical assistance to strengthen their livestock-based livelihood programs in the Tsunami affected areas of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. 18 participants comprising of CARE program staff as well as staff from their partner NGOs. from 4 districts located in AP and Tamil Nadu, took part in the initial orientation training programme between the 16th and 18th June 2009. This was followed by a field visit to a Goat Bank project, being implemented by CARE in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu, to understand the existing monitoring systems, and suggest changes to strengthen these systems. Ms Ashalatha and Mr Sanyasi Rao were resource persons for the training from Anthra.
