    • 2026 The International Year of Women Farmers and what better way to celebrate the occasion than by recognising the special women in the organisation who are farmers, colleagues , friends, mothers and so much more

This year Sangee ta Khapre has been selected.
Sangeeta is from Tarwal a small village in Ratnagiri . She joined Anthra in 1998 as an Animal health Worker or Pashusakhi at the young age of 18 along with five other remarkable young women from the region . They helped with the initial research conducted on documenting and validating traditional medicines used in animal care . Despite the several barriers , managing a household and family , lack of high education qualifications Sangeeta has grown tall and her growth curve has been exceptional .
Largely self taught , Sangeeta has learnt several skills which highly educated people would find a challenge . Computer skills, communication skills, technical skills while collecting samples in the field , management skills , networking skills .
This alongside being an amazing farmer, a terrific cook and the person who heads the medicine making in Anthra. For several people Sangeeta is the face of Anthra , always cheerful , laughing and with a word of comfort on her lips .
Sangeeta has passed some of her wonderful skills to her daughters Gayatri and Karishma who are the first generation in their family to have University degrees .

Sangeeta we are so proud of you and all you have achieved and words cannot truly express the love and gratitude we hold for you It seems only fitting that in 2026 the International year of Women Farmers we felicitate you
