  • Global Gathering of Pastoralist Women

    The Global Gathering of Pastoralist Women  is bringing  together pastoralist  women from around the world to celebrate and support their initiatives, strengthen solidarity and networks across regions, identify shared priorities, and amplify pastoralist women’s voices in international discussions about rangelands and pastoralism.

    This is the second such gathering with the first one having taken place in 2010 in Mera in India. Over 85 women representing diverse pastoralist groups from over  35 countries will gather to discuss and deliberate about a future fro pastoralism and rangelands of the world .

    This is also an occassion to celebrate the International Years of Rangelands and Pastoralism as well as the Internation Year  the Woman Farmer.

    Anthra is one of the coorganisers and is supporting the participation of  pastoralist women from India at this landmark event.
