  • Anthra Participates IN CBA9

    Dr. Nitya Ghotge participated in CBA 9 a conference on Community Based Adaptation which was held in Nairobi between the 24th and 30th of April this year. The conference involved more than 400 delegates from government, UN agencies, private sector, academia, non-governmental organisations, civil society, media and local communities sharing knowledge, experience and lessons from working with the most vulnerable communities in all countries to adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change. Prior to the conference, participants attended a three-day field visit where they engaged with vulnerable communities on adaption strategies to climate change. This community of practice on CBA met in Kenya for the first time, with previous meetings having been held in Nepal, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Tanzania in previous years. The conference was hosted by the African Centre for Technology Studies jointly with the Government of Kenya, IIED and the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies.
