A one day workshop on “Climate Change, Drought and Livestock Rearing Communities is jointly being organized by Oxford University, The Rainfed Livestock Network and the Climate Change Cell of Anthra. The principle aim of the workshop is to bring together diverse Indian stakeholders, policymakers and scholars with researchers from Oxford University to discuss climate and water issues and its impact on communities especially in drought-prone regions of India. Changing climate and water resources have a great impact on Indian society. Rural livelihoods, based on farming and livestock, are dependent on challenging environmental conditions. The risk of climate and drought stress communities, affect human well-being and call for government policies and action to mitigate disasters. Our one-day workshop will also look at Water provision, policy, governance and an Asian-wide water and drought perspective will be featured.
