  • Shepherds from Medak district participate in Deccani Breed Mela in Ranga Reddy district

    A team 10 women and men from the Mahila Brathukuderuvu Sangham and the Deccani Gorreala Mekala Pempakadharla Sangham, Medak participated in the first Deccani Breed Jatra organized by the NGO SHARE in Ranga Reddy district, on 22nd March 2011. The NGO acknowledged that they had organized this mela after participating in the Jatra organized by shepherds and Anthra in Medak district, and were inspired to replicated the process in their district. The shepherds from Medak, were happy to hear this. Ellesh spoke at the event, on behalf of the team. It was a proud moment for the sangham, who felt happy that their positive experience had inspired other shepherds to protect the Deccani breed.
